Now Your Modle Number is J48ESLESA Take the ES Last Two Letters Before The A. A is a Refrence Letter don't worry about that one. ES is the Year on you Modle. So You Would have a 1990.
If the letters were CR you would Have 1984. This Helps a lot when working with different years of Johnsons and Evinrudes. Hope that Helps.
