Instructions For Sending Your Powerhead

Please read these instructions carefully. It will save headaches for both you and us.

The easiest way to prep your powerhead to ship is to remove the external components BEFORE you remove the powerhead itself. We recommend taking photos as a reference for reinstallation later.

To rebuild your motor, we only want the bare basic block. Please use the checklist below:

  • Ignition: Remove flywheel, stator, timerbase/trigger, power packs, and regulator/rectifier.
  • Electrical: Remove starter, solenoids, and engine wire harness.
  • Fuel System: Remove carbs, fuel pump, oil injection pump, and all rubber hoses.
  • Hardware: Remove intake manifold, reeds, throttle linkage, and all removable brackets. (TMS is not responsible for brackets broken in transit if left on).
  • Preparation: Remove any long protruding studs that would prevent the powerhead from being boxed. Not responsible if they get bent or broken or damaged in transit.

Now you should be down to the basic bare block, cylinder heads, exhaust cover, and water covers. This is the state we want for packaging.

Shipping Guidelines

2, 3, and 4 Cylinder Motors: Ship via UPS. DO NOT use wood crates or pallets for these smaller units.

V6 Models: Ships via Truck Freight. We suggest constructing a simple 1/2" plywood crate. It doesn't need to be professional, just sturdy and sized appropriately for the powerhead.
